Aluminium profiles and plates
Studio Joachim-Morineau collection "Archetypes" is a furniture collection, which visually and structurally incorporates ancient Roman architectural elements.
Inspired by emblematic edifices such as Pont du Gard (Roman aqueduct, FR) and ruins from the Parco archeologico del Colosseo in Rome, the two designers translates these classic sculptural languages into a new industrial aesthetic. Composed of pedestals, a cabinet, a table, a light installation, fruit bowls and more. The collection shows another aspect of Studio Joachim-Morineau.
THOLOS — is a column that can serve as pedestals to display your favorite objects (or plants). Designed to sublime your interior, Tholos is part of a series of columns, which are inspired by different temples structures and column shapes from the Parco archeologico del Colosseo in Rome. Made out of industrial aluminium profiles and sheets, the piece is designed and assembled in our workshop in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.
A tholos is a specific type of round temples, which is (sometimes) surrounded by columns. It's an architecural style found in the ancient greek and Roman temples such as the Tholos of Delphi or the temple of Vesta in Roma. The main body of the column THOLOS, with its 10 long columns placed in a round shape is our industrial translation from this style.
110 x 30 x 30 cm
The piece has a brushed finish and a transparent protective layer for aluminium.
To clean, use a cloth soaked with a bit of water and soap. Wipe in the brushed direction. Dry well with another cloth.
is a design studio founded by Carla Joachim (FR) and Jordan Morineau (FR), based in Eindhoven (NL). Their work is a mix of crafts, industrial techniques and technology. They use experimentation to push the limits of each field. Carla and Jordan first worked together during their studies in Paris at ENSAAMA. They moved to the Design Academy Eindhoven and both graduated with honours from Man and Activity in 2018. Their common graduation project, Moca was the starting point of the company. The creation of a studio allow them to honestly use their imagination without limitation.
They aspire to research new techniques and collaborate with craftsmen and industries from different parts of the world to bring surprising outcomes.
