Studio Joachim-Morineau collection "Archetypes" is a furniture collection, which visually and structurally incorporates ancient Roman architectural elements.
Inspired by emblematic edifices such as Pont du Gard (Roman aqueduct, FR) and ruins from the Parco archeologico del Colosseo in Rome, the two designers translates these classic sculptural languages into a new industrial aesthetic. Composed of pedestals, a cabinet, a table, a light installation, fruit bowls and more. The collection shows another aspect of Studio Joachim-Morineau.
PTERON — is a column that can serve as pedestals to display your favorite objects (or plants). Designed to sublime your interior, Pteron is part of a series of columns, which are inspired by different temples structures and column shapes from the Parco archeologico del Colosseo in Rome. Made out of industrial aluminium profiles and sheets, the piece is designed and assembled in our workshop in Eindhoven, the Netherlands.
A pteron is a type of colonnade which is placed on the side of ancient greek and Roman temples. The top part of the column PTERON, with its 12 smaller columns is our industrial translation from this style.
